Pumpkin Patches Near Hockley TX: Plan Visits by Closing Date

Fall around Hockley doesn't end all at once. It shuts down a piece at a time. Some patches near Hockley close on Halloween, one stays open into mid-November, and Oil Ranch keeps its fall season going until November 21. The catch at Oil Ranch is that its pumpkin patch closes when October ends. If pumpkins are the reason you're going, the farm with the longest season is the one you need to visit first.

Today is Saturday, October 3. Several places opened this weekend, which makes this a good time to put every last day on one calendar. Then you can plan backward from when each place closes, not from how close it is to home.

The calendar, sorted by last day

Here is what each venue has posted for 2026, starting with whichever closes first. Entry prices are per person. Pumpkins and paid activities are usually extra, except at Oil Ranch, where kids 12 and under get one free pumpkin with admission in October.

Venue Address Days and hours Entry Last day
Oil Ranch pumpkin patch 23501 Macedonia Rd, Hockley Fri 10 a.m.–2 p.m., Sat 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Sun noon–5 p.m. $25.95–$29.95 End of October
Cypress Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch 13403 Cypress North Houston Rd, Cypress Daily, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Free Oct. 31
Harvest Season Farm 21110 Bauer Hockley Rd, Tomball Sat–Sun, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. $5, free for kids 10 and under Oct. 31 or Nov. 2, see below
Old Time Christmas Tree Farm pumpkin patch 7632 Spring Cypress Rd, Spring Thu–Sun $10, ages 2 and up Nov. 1
Rosehill Pumpkins Pumpkin Patch 19243 FM 2920, Tomball Daily, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Free Mon–Thu, $5 Fri–Sun for ages 13+ Nov. 14
Oil Ranch fall season, no patch 23501 Macedonia Rd, Hockley Fri 10 a.m.–2 p.m., Sat 10 a.m.–5 p.m. $25.95–$29.95 Nov. 21

Oil Ranch shows up twice in that table because it really works like two different outings that share a gate. The rest of this guide follows from that split.

Oil Ranch's October is a different trip from its November

Oil Ranch lists its fall season as October 3 through November 21. Fridays run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays noon to 5 p.m. The Sunday hours carry a note on the ranch's own schedule that says "October Only." The ranch also says its pumpkin patch is open throughout October only. During that month, kids 12 and under get one free pumpkin with admission.

So October at Oil Ranch gets you three open days a week plus the patch and the free pumpkin. November gets you two days a week and no patch. The hayrides, farm animals, pony rides, and photo spots are part of the fall season as a whole.

That makes the calendar tighter than it first looks. The October Sundays left are October 4, 11, 18, and 25. If Sunday afternoon is the only time your household is free, you have four chances to see the patch. Families who can make a Friday morning or a Saturday get the last weekend of October as well.

Prices depend on the day and on where you buy. Weekend admission is $29.95 at the gate or $25.95 online. Friday admission is $25.95 at the gate or $21.95 online. Tax is extra on all of them, and every child 3 and older needs a ticket. For two adults and two kids old enough to need tickets, that's $103.80 before tax with weekend tickets bought online, or $87.80 for a Friday visit bought online.

The ticket rules have one detail most fall roundups skip. Oil Ranch says a weekend ticket is good for any one weekend day it's open to the public during either its fall dates or its Christmas dates. Friday tickets work the same way for Fridays, and no reservations are needed. The ranch's Christmas dates are December 3 through 12, with Friday and Saturday hours. Each ticket still covers one day, not one fall visit and one December visit. What it does mean is that buying at the online price now doesn't lock you into October. If the weather or a busy schedule wipes out your fall weekends, the same ticket still works in December.

The free and low-cost patches mostly close with Halloween

The patches that cost little or nothing to enter close soonest, and most of them close on the same day.

Cypress Methodist Church's pumpkin patch is open every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., October 2 through 31, and entry is free. The church's page mentions buying pumpkins, taking photos, picnics, and pumpkin bread. We couldn't find 2026 pumpkin prices for it, so plan on finding those out once you're there.

Harvest Season Farm on Bauer Hockley Road is the cheapest ticketed option on the list. One local guide from Hello Woodlands, published September 29, lists entry at $5 per person, free for children 10 and under, and pumpkins at $1 a pound. That guide also lists hayrides, a bounce house, a petting zoo, food trucks, face painting, and pumpkin painting at $5 per person per activity. The per-activity price applies to kids 10 and under too. That means free entry for young kids doesn't make the whole day free. A family that picks three activities is paying the same $5 per person, three times over, for everyone who joins in.

Harvest Season Farm's closing date is the least certain one in this guide. The September 29 guide lists weekends from October 3 through October 31. Two roundups from Hello Cypress and My Neighborhood News, both published September 10, list September 20 through November 2. One of those earlier roundups says its activity details came from the previous season. The farm's own homepage confirms there's an annual pumpkin patch but doesn't post a 2026 schedule. The safest plan is to treat October 31 as the last day and count anything after that as extra.

The weeknight options buy you more time

Most of these venues are weekend-only or mostly weekend. Rosehill and Cypress Methodist are open every day, and Old Time adds Thursday and Friday evenings. That matters for households with Saturdays already booked by sports, work, or church.

Rosehill Pumpkins on FM 2920 is open every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through November 14, so it stays open two weeks past Halloween. Entry is free Monday through Thursday. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday it's $5 for ages 13 and up, and kids 12 and under get in free. Weekend entry covers photo spots, games, and activities. Pumpkins, food, drinks, and merchandise cost extra. Rosehill's Saturday live music starts today, October 3. Reservations aren't required.

A Tuesday visit to Rosehill costs nothing to get in, while a Saturday visit to Oil Ranch costs a family of four more than $100. Rosehill also stays open later. Its 7 p.m. closing gives you time after a school day that Oil Ranch's 2 p.m. Friday close doesn't.

Old Time Christmas Tree Farm on Spring Cypress Road is a longer drive from Hockley. It's open Thursday through Sunday, October 1 through November 1, and charges $10 per person for everyone 2 and older. You pay at the gate, and there's no online ticketing or reservations. A September 29 local guide lists Thursday and Friday hours as 4 to 7 p.m. and weekend hours as 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jack-o'-lantern pumpkins are $6 to $12 depending on size, and pie pumpkins are $4. The farm's pumpkin page mentions a one-acre corn maze, but it also links to 2025 attraction materials. We couldn't confirm the maze for 2026, so don't base the trip on it.

Old Time's last pumpkin day is Sunday, November 1, one day after the Halloween closings. That makes it the backup for families who miss the October 31 deadline.

November 21 is the handoff

The last part of the calendar fits together neatly. Oil Ranch's fall season ends Saturday, November 21. That same day, Old Time Christmas Tree Farm opens its Christmas season. Its staffing calendar lists opening-day hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Spring Creek Growers, at 23803 Decker Prairie-Rosehill Road in Magnolia, also lists November 21 as opening day, open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Its posted schedule shows Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday hours of 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weekday afternoon hours, and a Thanksgiving Day closure.

That leaves no gap between fall and Christmas around Hockley. One season ends the same Saturday the next one begins.

Weekend by weekend, from today

Put the closing dates together and an order falls out of them:

  1. Through October 25: Go to Oil Ranch on any October Sunday you have free, while the patch is open and kids get a free pumpkin. Sunday hours don't continue into November.
  2. The weekend of October 30–31: This is the last chance for the Oil Ranch patch, Cypress Methodist, and, under the shorter published schedule, Harvest Season Farm.
  3. Sunday, November 1: Old Time's pumpkin patch closes.
  4. Any weekday through November 14: Rosehill is free to enter Monday through Thursday until it closes for the season.
  5. Fridays and Saturdays through November 21: Oil Ranch's farm animals, hayrides, and pony rides keep going without the patch.
  6. November 21 onward: Christmas tree season starts at Old Time and Spring Creek Growers.

A household that wants the patch at Oil Ranch, a cheap weekday stop at Rosehill, and a cut tree later can fit all three in, as long as Oil Ranch comes first.
